Miguel's journey-from cooking for his siblings in Colombia to running his own restaurant in Hyde Park-is a testament to his resilience, passion, and love for food. Today, as the owner of Delicias Colombianas Hyde Park, he proudly shares the flavors of his heritage with the community, one plate at a time.

In 2017, Miguel's uncle purchased a small restaurant in the heart of Hyde Park. That restaurant became Las Delicias Colombianas-a place built not only to serve food, but to celebrate the vibrant flavors and rich traditions of Colombia. When asked to manage the restaurant, Miguel agreed, balancing his new role with his longstanding position at Restaurant Associates at Harvard Business School. It was a partnership rooted in trust and family values.

Then came 2020-and with it, the COVID-19 pandemic. In a time of widespread uncertainty, Miguel stepped up. He kept the kitchen open, the staff supported, and the spirit of the restaurant alive. Later that year, his uncle offered him full ownership, and in January 2021, Miguel officially took over the business.

Now leading the way, Miguel manages everything from food costs to payroll, but above all, he leads with heart. Backed by a loyal team-many of whom have been with the restaurant for years-and with the support of Marcela (his wife), Miguel continues to grow Delicias Colombianas Hyde Park into more than just a restaurant. It's a neighborhood staple, a family operation, and a living tribute to Colombian culture.
